NABATAEA. Aretas IV. 9 BC-AD 40. Æ (13mm, 1.52 g, 11h). Contemporary imitation. Laureate head of Aretas right / Crossed cornucopias; Aramaic resh ḥēth within. Cf. Meshorer, Nabataea 67 (for prototype). VF, dark green patina. The overwhelmingly crude style of the bust points toward a barbarous issue. Extremely rare and interesting.
