2nd Intermediate Period. Circa 1650-1550 BC. Steatite scarab (21x15mm). Base engraved with a coiled cord pattern within a cord circle. Intact, once glazed, pierced for mounting.
From the David Hendin Collection.
The line of discoloration on the back indicates the scarab was mounted in a swivel ring and is the result of friction on the wearer’s skin.
