2nd Intermediate Period. Circa 1650-1550 BC. Steatite scarab (20x14mm). Base engraved with symmetric hieroglyphs on three registers with various signs of protection and power, including the crown of Lower Egypt. Small crack on the back, edge chip at bottom, once glazed, pierced for mounting.
