2nd Intermediate Period. Circa 1650-1550 BC. Steatite scarab (20x15mm). Back carved into a criss-cross pattern, suggestive of a hedgehog. Base engraved with various symmetric signs disposed in a typical Hyksos design. Small chips at base, once glazed, pierced for mounting.
