2nd Intermediate Period. Circa 1650-1550 BC. Steatite scarab (16x12mm). Base engraved with sedge and bee (symbolizing the King of Upper and Lower Egypt), a scarab flanked by ankhs, and the sign for gold. Intact but with area of light roughness on base, once glazed, pierced for mounting. Neat and deep carvings.
