2nd Intermediate Period. Circa 1650-1550 BC. Steatite scarab (15x10mm). Back carved into a criss-cross pattern, suggestive of a hedgehog. Base engraved with miscellaneous signs, some protective in nature, others meaningless. Intact, once glaze, pierced for mounting.
