2nd Intermediate Period. Circa 1650-1550 BC. Steatite scarab (24x17mm). Base engraved with a human figure standing right; protective signs and a scarab around; all within scroll frame. Intact but with a few light chips, once glazed, pierced for mounting. A large and attractive piece. Well engraved and with good detail.
