New Kingdom. 18th Dynasty. Amenophis III (circa 1386-1349 BC). Steatite amulet in the shape of a recumbent antelope (16x11mm). Back in the form of an antelope, its head turned toward the side. Base engraved with a crude cartouche, perhaps King Amenhotep III, topped by ostrich feathers. Uraei (Royal Cobras) on the side. For the back, cf. CNG 91, lot 1762. Some wear on the high points, once glazed, pierced for mounting.
