SYRIA, Coele-Syria. Damascus. Philip I. AD 244-249. Æ (29mm, 15.02 g, 12h). Laureate and cuirassed bust left / Hercules standing left, holding woven fabric over extended right arm and club and lion skin in left; to upper left, ram’s head right. Unpublished in the standard references, but for other examples see: CNG 85, lot 657; CNG eAuction 208, lot 214; Triton XV lot 1430. Near VF, dark greenish-brown patina under earthen deposits, surfaces a bit rough.
