ATTICA, Athens. Circa 165-42 BC. AR Tetradrachm (30mm, 16.84 g, 12h). New Style coinage. Hera–, Aristoph-, and Philo–, magistrates. Struck 136/5 BC. Head of Athena Parthenos right, wearing single-pendant earring and triple crested Attic helmet decorated with Pegasos and floral pattern / Owl standing right, head facing, on amphora; A-ӨE above HPA/API-ΣTOΦ/ΦIΛΩ (magistrates’ names) in three lines across field; to left, club facing downward, draped in lion skin and set over bow in case; E on amphora, HP below; all within wreath. Thompson 334 var. (HP not recorded with ΦIΛΩ; same obv. die); Triton VIII, lot 319 (same dies). EF, lightly toned, very light double strike on reverse.
