THRACE, Kings of. Lysimachos. 323-281 BC. AR Tetradrachm (17.09 gm). Uncertain mint. After 280 BC. Head of the deified Alexander right / Athena Nikephoros seated left; monogram before, bow in exergue. Unpublished? Lightly toned, good VF. Unusual style. ($500)
It is not unknown to find imitations of Alexandrine tetradrachms with barbarized legends. however, the legend on this piece is clear and well formed, apparently naming a previously unknown Thracian ruler.
