KINGS of MACEDON. temp. Alexander III – Kassander. Circa 325-310 BC. AR Tetradrachm (27mm, 16.95 g, 8h). Uncertain mint in Macedon. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; to left, filleted trident left. Price 233A; BM museum no. 2002,0101.128 (same dies) and 2002,0101.127 (same rev. die). Fine, toned, minor deposits, edge bumps. Extremely rare – only one specimen in the Hersh Collection cited by Price. That specimen has since been donated, along with another of the same type, to the British Museum.
