CALABRIA, Tarentum. Circa 280 BC. AR Nomos (19mm, 7.83 g, 11h). Warrior, holding shield, on horse cantering left, restrained by Nike standing right, holding rein; [ΛYKIΣKOΣ below] / Phalanthos, holding two spears and shield inscribed with E, astride dolphin left; ZOP to left, waves below. Vlasto 679–82; HN Italy 963. VF, attractive light toning, dies a little worn. Rare type.
