Two Unpublished Late Issues from the Same Obverse Die

THRACE, Byzantion. Circa 100-90 BC or later. AV Stater (21mm, 8.12 g, 12h). In the name and types of Lysimachos. Diademed head of the deified Alexander right, with horn of Ammon / BAΣIΛEWΣ ΛYΣIMAXOY, Athena Nikephoros seated left, left arm resting on shield, transverse spear in background; BY below throne, ornate trident in exergue. Unpublished. Good VF, minor double strike on reverse.

Struck from the same obverse die as the following lot.

Both of these issues also exhibit changes in the letter forms used in their legends, attesting to their 1st century BC origin. On both, the omega is now in its uncial form, while on the second stater, the epsilon and sigmas are now lunate.
