CNG 94, Lot: 381. Estimate $300.
Sold for $280. This amount does not include the buyer’s fee.

CORINTHIA, Corinth (or colony). Circa 350-300 BC. AR Drachm (10mm, 2.71 g, 5h). Pegasos flying left; no control marks / Head of Aphrodite left, wearing sakkos and earring; no control marks. BCD Corinth –; SNG Copenhagen –; SNG Blackburn 877 corr. (no letter on obv.). Good VF, toned, slight die shift on reverse.

Although most Corinth type drachms have letters on the obverse that distinguish the city of origin, there are some that have none, and it is uncertain whether these were issues of Corinth or one of its colonies.
