INDIA. Kushans. Huvishka. Circa 126-164 AD. Æ Tetradrachm (8.84 gm). King, wearing hat and diadem, seated facing, head left, holding spear in right hand / Herakles standing facing, nimbate head right, holding club in right hand and lion’s skin in left; tamgha in right field. Göbl Kushan -; cf. Donum Burns 367. Good VF, black patina with light earthen encrustation, faint cleaning marks, exceptionally fine for type and full legends. Extremely rare and apparently unpublished. ($500).
The occurence of Herakles on a Kushan coin is rare.
