INDIA. Kushano-Sasanian. "Varahran" (Kidara). After 350 AD. AV Dinar (7.69 gm). King standing left, wearing long ribbon crown, holding trident, sacrificing at altar / Siva standing facing, holding trident, bull behind. Cribb 13; Göbl Kushan 730. VF, slight internal die crack. Very rare. ($400)
The reverse die appears to be intentionally defaced, suggesting that the people striking this coin no-longer venerated Siva.
