LYDIA, Nacrasa. Trajan. AD 98-117. Æ (20mm, 4.52 g, 12h). A(VT) NЄP TRAIA–ANON CЄ, laureate head right / [N]AKRA–CITΩN, Artemis standing left, holding bow and drawing arrow from quiver, within tetrastyle temple. LS –; BMC 16 var. (obv. legend, Artemis to right); SNG von Aulock 3035 var. (same); cf. SNG München 344. Good VF, dark green patina, hairline flan crack. Interesting portrait.
Possibly from the same obverse die as the Munich piece, which is in a poor state of preservation. Although barely a trace of the reverse legend is legible on that coin, the SNG volume reconstructs it as “NAKPACIT ЄΠI ΘЄOΦANOV” based on Mionnet IV, 510.
