Galla Placidia. Augusta, AD 421-450. AV Solidus (22mm, 4.45 g, 6h). Vicennalia issue. Rome mint. Struck while regent for Valentinian III, AD 425/6. D N GALLA PLA CIDIA P F AVG, laureate, pearl-diademed, and draped bust right; above, manus Dei holding diadem / VOT XX MVLT XXX, Victory standing left, holding long jeweled cross; star above; R-M//COMOB. RIC X 2007; Depeyrot 45/2; Biaggi –; G. Lacam. Civilisation et monnaies byzantines (Paris, 1974), pl. CII, 12 (this coin). Superb EF, minor scratch in left field of obverse. Of great Late Antique style.
