KINGS of MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’. 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 25mm, 17.22 g 9), Pella, c. 325-315. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress.
Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Zeus seated left on high-backed throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and, in his right, eagle standing right with closed wings; to left, Corinthian helmet to left. Price 212. A really lovely piece, struck in high relief and of excellent style. Good extremely fine.
