CYCLADES, Naxos. Late 3rd-mid 2nd century BC. Didrachm (Silver, 23mm, 7.80 g 1), Ktesiphon, c. 200-180 BC. Head of bearded Dionysos to right, wearing ivy wreath. Rev. ΝΑΞΙ / ΚΤΗΣΙΦ Wreathed krater on a high foot with low handles; to right, thyrsos. Nicolet-Pierre, Cratérophores 17 (D6-R11,same dies). Very rare, of the seven examples of this die pair known, four are in museums. Traces of a removed mount above the head on the obverse, otherwise, about extremely fine.
