PERSIA, Achaemenid Empire. Time of Darios I to Xerxes I. Circa 505-480 BC. Daric (Gold, 13mm, 8.30 g), Sardes. The Persian Great King in kneeling-running stance to right, shooting arrow from bow held in his left hand; quiver over his left shoulder.
Rev. Oblong incuse . ACGC 81. Carradice Type II (pl. XI, 11). Very rare. A beautifully centered and complete example, unusually well preserved. Good extremely fine.
