Septimius Severus. AD 193-211. AR Denarius (19mm, 3.54 g, 1h). Rome mint. Struck AD 202. SEVERVS PIVS AVG, laureate head right / [LAETI]TIA TEMPORVM, ship with mast and sail in center of circus; above, four quadrigae driven left; below, ostrich, lion, zebra, bear, and stag to right, a bull butting left, and a bear to right, with head left. RIC IV 274; RSC 253. VF, toned, flan splits, a few deposits. Rare.
