The moneyer, Thomas Kynne, served as mayor sometime between 1249 and 1272 and was a merchant by trade, as we know he sold pelts to the king for £12 14s 4d in 1250. See Mints & Moneyers During the Reign of Henry III by Ron Churchill (Baldwin’s, 2012), p. 203.
