SICILY, Syracuse. Agathokles. 317-289 BC. AR Tetradrachm (25mm, 17.18 g, 8h). Struck circa 317-310 BC. Head of Arethusa left, wearing wreath of grain ears, triple-pendant earring, and pearl necklace; three dolphins around, NI below neck / Charioteer, holding kentron in right hand, reins in left, driving fast quadriga left; counterclockwise triskeles above, [Σ]YPAKOΣI[ΩN] and monogram in exergue. Ierardi 29 (O4/R15); BAR Issue 2; HGC 2, 1348; SNG ANS 634 (same obv. die); SNG Ashmolean 2067 (same obv. die); Ars Classica XVI, lot 840 (same dies); Morgan 150 (same dies). Near EF, toned. Well centered and struck.
