SICILY, Uncertain. Circa 3rd century BC. Æ Security seal. Complete security seal, consisting of identifying seal and security tie (with hole for sealing). Identifying seal consists of the following:
Obv. Facing lion head.
Rev. Boar standing left on ground line; above, club left. Overall dimensions: Length, 62mm; Width at point of sealing, 16mm; Diameter of identifying seal, 14mm; Weight, 7.46 g. Cf. CNG E-59, lot 7 (for similar identifying seal). Choice for issue, earthen dark green patina. A rare example of a complete security seal.
