Hadrian. AD 117-138. AR Denarius (18mm, 2.88 g, 5h). Uncertain mint in Asia. Struck AD 138. HADRIANVS AVGVSTVS P P, laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust left / COS II[I], Salus(?) standing facing, head left, holding patera and long scepter. RIC –; RSC – (but cf. 296c for obv. type); cf. Strack Pl. XVIII, *35, *60, *65 (for the same obv. die, rev. type unlisted). Good VF, lightly toned, scrape on reverse, scratches. Unpublished reverse type paired with a very rare obverse type with the bust left.
