PHOENICIA, Tyre. Julia Maesa. Augusta, AD 218-224/5. Æ (27mm, 12.82 g, 6h). Draped bust right, wearing stephane / Dido standing left on deck of galley sailing right, holding short scepter in extended right hand, cornucopia in left; at stern, helmsman bending over rudder to left; sailor to right, stern decorated with a shield and aphlaston, two murex shells in exergue. Rouvier 2408; BMC –; SNG Copenhagen –; AUB – (but cf. 246 for similar type for Elagabalus). Good Fine, brown patina, scrape on bust. Scarce.
