Brenet was a painter and engraver who worked for the Paris mint (his father was a painter as well). The Minerva and wreathed reverse types were used for a number of prize medals engraved by Brenet that were produced in Paris during the 19th century. Octave Henriot founded a cloth factory at Amiens, later in partnership with his sons.
