            ROMAN. 1st century BC/AD. Height 18 cm. Elegant light green patinated bronze handle from a situla (wine jug) . The upper semi-circular arms stretching out as lightly engraved eagle heads with a rising knob-topped protome between. The base of the handle ends in a finely moulded facing head of a fleshy young Dionysos (god of wine), framed by long locks of hair. ($500)
