THRACE, Byzantion. Circa 100-90 BC or later. AV Stater (21mm, 8.23 g, 11h). In the name and types of Lysimachos. Period of the Mithradatic Wars. Diademed head of the deified Alexander right, with horn of Ammon / Athena Nikephoros seated left, left arm resting on shield, spear in background; uncertain control (Є?) to inner left, BY on throne, ornate trident in exergue. Apparently unpublished, but cf. Callataÿ Group 2B, p. 142 and pl. 38, M for a similar type and style. Good VF, struck from a worn obverse die, reverse slightly double struck.
