328, Lot: 157. Estimate $75.
Sold for $45. This amount does not include the buyer’s fee.

MYSIA, Pergamon. Mid-late 2nd century BC. Æ (21mm, 8.96 g, 12h). Pergamos, magistrate. Helmeted head of Athena right; EΠI ΠEPΓAM[OY] / Nike walking right. SNG France 1790-93. Good Fine, dark brown patina, light roughness.

Several different magistrates' names appear on this issue. Interestingly, on the other magistrate's coins only their names appear, whereas Pergamos' coins bear ΕΠI before his name, presumably to avoid any confusion with the ethnic.
