Dated 1 June 1815 (in Roman numerals). NAPOLEON EMPEREUR, laureate head right / CHAMP DE MAI., eagle standing facing on thunderbolt, wings spread, head left; I. JUIN/ MDCCXV in exergue. Bramsen 1632. In NGC encapsulation graded MS 64. Beautifully toned with fully prooflike surfaces. Purchased from M. Louis Teller, April 1997.

“Champ de Mai” 6/1/1815. One of the issues marking the return of Napoleon from Elba and his struggle to retake France from “European Enemies”.
