The reverse legend on this coin: "peace established with Persia" refers to one of Philip's first acts as emperor - the peace treaty with the Sasanian king Shapur I. The P M in the obverse legend refers to 'Persicus Maximus' as opposed to 'Pontifex Maximus.'
