BRUTTIUM, Kaulonia. c. 525-500 BC. Stater (Silver, 30mm, 7.81 g 12). ΚΑVΛ Apollo, nude, striding right, brandishing laurel branch in his upraised right hand and, on his outstretched left arm, small figure of a
daimon running to right, holding a branch in each of his hands and with his head turned back to look at Apollo; to right, stag standing right, head turned back to left; all within cable border.
Rev. As the obverse, but incuse, except for the daimon, branches and stag’s antlers, which are in relief, and with no legend. Gulbenkian 120-121(

same dies). A splendid, superb example, well struck in high relief and nicely toned. Some minor traces of overstriking on the reverse,
otherwise, extremely fine.
