Follis (Copper, 25mm, 6.56 g 6), Constantiople, 870-879. +LEOn bASIL COnST AUGG’ Three half figures facing; at the center, Basil I, bearded and holding out his left hand, wearing modified loros and cross-topped crown; to left and right, Constantine and Leo, wearing chlamys and cross-topped crowns. Rev. +bASIL / COnSTAn / T S LEOnEn / ΘO bASILS / ROMEOn / * DOC 11. SB 1712. A superb example, beautifully struck, perfectly centered and with a fine green patina with earthen highlights, very rare thus. Good extremely fine.
