Honorius. AD 393-423. Æ (23mm, 6.29 g, 3h). Barbarous imitation. DN O HONNTIVS ITHOHO, bareheaded, draped, and cuirassed bust right; И behind / HSVTPH HOHOT, soldier standing left, spearing fallen horseman; III in left field, SIS in exergue. Cf. DeWit 46. EF, dark green patina. An attractive imitative issue.
A fascinating barbaric imitation. It appears that the obverse legend is for Honorius, but it is difficult to ascertain this with any certainty. The letters H, N, and A all appear to be the same. The reverse imitates the soldier spearing fallen horseman type.
