CELTIC, Gaul. The Aulerci Eburovices. Circa 2nd Century BC. AV Half Stater (3.13 gm). Laureate male head (Apollo) right; neck terminates in a boar / Degenerate design of driver and chariot right (driver looks like a bird pecking at the horse's rump); pellet in rosette to right, boar and "lazy" B below. Scheers, S-M 287; Allen & Nash 233 (same dies). Good VF for type. Very rare. (See color enlargement on plate 1.) ($2000)
