THESSALY, Ainianes. Mid 1st century BC. AR Hemidrachm (16mm, 2.29 g, 12h). Derkias, magistrate. Head of Zeus left, wearing laurel wreath; ΔΕΡΚΙΑΣ behind / Phemios, naked but for chlamys draped over his left arm and belt holding a short sword in a scabbard, standing right in throwing stance, preparing to hurl javelin in right hand and holding his petasos as if it were a small shield with his left; ΑΙΝΙΑΝΩ[Ν] to left, monogram to lower right. BCD Thessaly II 47.4 (same dies); Rhousopoulos 1238 (same dies). Good VF, die break on reverse. Very rare.
