KINGS of MACEDON. Philip II. 359-336 BC. AR Tetradrachm (14.36 gm). Pella mint. Struck circa 323-315 BC. Laureate head of Zeus right / FILIP-POU, youth on horseback right, crowning horse with palm; serpent below, Boeotian shield under raised foreleg. LeRider 525 (D279/R433); SNG ANS 450; Winterthur 1455 (same dies). Beautifully toned EF. Unusual placing of the reverse legend with FILIP in a straight line instead of the usual curved orientation.
