Diva Faustina Senior. Died AD 140/1. Æ Sestertius (3417mm, 27.15 g, 6h). Consecration issue. Rome mint. Struck under Antoninus Pius, circa AD 146-161. DIVA FAVSTINA, draped bust right, wearing hair bound in pearls / AVGV STA, S C across field, Ceres, veiled and draped, standing left, holding grain ears in right hand and torch in left. RIC III 1116 (Pius); Strack 1285; Banti 35; BMCRE 1509 (Pius). Near EF, brown and green patina, beautiful, even surfaces. An attractive example of the type.
