Gordian II. AD 238. Æ Sestertius (29mm, 21.49 g, 12h). Rome mint. IMP CAES M ANT GORDIANVS AFR AVG, laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / ROMAE AETERNAE, S C in exergue, Roma, helmeted and draped, seated left on throne, holding Victory in extended right hand and vertical scepter in left; oval shield in front of throne. RIC IV 5; BMCRE 23-6; Banti 4. Near VF, dark gray and brown patina, some green, traces of deposits, slight doubling on obverse.
