Regalianus. Usurper, AD 260. AR Antoninianus (20mm, 2.81 g, 6h). Carnuntum mint. IMP C P C REG[ALIANVS AVG], radiate and draped bust right / ORIENS Λ[V]G[G], Sol standing left, raising right hand and holding whip in left. RIC V 7; MIR 43, 1713f (same dies as illustration); RSC 4a; Hunter 2 (example overstruck on denarius of Septimius Severus). Good VF, toned. Overstruck on a Rome mint denarius of Elagabalus, struck AD 218, with a VICTOR ANTONINI AVG reverse (RIC IV 156-7). Extremely rare.
