VISIGOTHS, Gaul. Pseudo-Imperial coinage. Late 5th century AD or slightly later. AV Tremissis (15mm, 1.38 g, 6h). Imitating a Ravenna mint tremissis struck in the name of Anthemius. Uncertain mint. (retrograde C) N ΛNTHEMIVS P F ΛVC, pearl-diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Staurogram within wreath; COM(OM). RIC X, p. 227 and 3765; Lacam 144 (attributed to Arles); DOCLR –; Ferrando –; MEC 1, –. Good VF, toned. Extremely rare.
