PHILIPPVS • IIII • D • G • HISPANIARVM (cross of five pellets), crowned coat-of-arms / (cross of five pellets) ET • INDIARVM • REX [•] ANO • 1•6•5•0, coat-of-arms of Spain within angled quadrilobe; c/m: uncertain design, partial pelleted border visible, all within circular incuse. Cf. ME pp. 699-700 (for contemporary Potosí 8 reales illustrated with c/ms); cf. NE pp. 321-2 (same); Lázaro 113 (this coin). VF, toned, holed for suspension, evidence of having been gilt.
