IONIA, Uncertain. Circa 650-600 BC. EL Hemistater (7.22 gm). Flattened striated surface / Two incuse punches separated by a cleft. Cf. Weidauer 5 (trite); cf. SNG Kayhan 680 (hekte). Good VF. Apparently the second hemistater known of this type (the other appeared as lot 1 in Harlan Berk Bid or Buy Sale 98). (See color enlargement on plate 4.) ($5000)
