IONIA, Uncertain. Circa 650-550 BC. Lot of six EL Hektai. Weights ranging from 2.31 gm to 1.81 gm. Obverse type of two back to back lions' heads, facing downward with open jaws and lolling tongues, a volute decoration between, sometimes with cross-hatching in the interstices / The reverses either of two plain square incuse punches or a single divided punch with volute design. Cf. Gorny & Mosch 115, lot 1171 and Classical Numismatic Group 60, lots 706-710. Average VF, one very weakly struck and porous. Six (6) coins in lot. ($1000)
