SYRIA, Coele-Syria. Damascus. Philip I. AD 244-249. Æ (29mm, 22.48 g, 12h). Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Cybele seated right, raising left hand to mouth, below vine surmounted by eagle; at her side, lion right. Unpublished in the standard references, but see CNG E-301, lot 339 for the same reverse die. Good VF, attractive green patina. Rare type for Philip, and seemingly unpublished with bust to right. Choice specimen for mint.
