MESSENIA, Pylus. Julia Domna. Augusta, AD 193-217. Æ Assarion (22mm, 4.03 g, 6h). Struck circa AD 198-205. Draped bust right / Minerva standing left, holding patera and spear. BCD Peloponnesos –; cf. NCP p. 69 (for the same rev. type, but of Septimius Severus, Caracalla, and Plautilla); Dura –; BMC –. VF, dark brown patina, lighter highlights, flan break at edge, minor pit on cheek. Extremely rare, and apparently unpublished.
