NABATAEA. Aretas IV, with Huldu. 9 BC-AD 40. AR Drachm (18mm, 3.75 g, 12h). Petra mint. Dated RY 3 (7/6 BC). Diademed head of Aretas right; “year 3” and ḥēth in Aramaic to left / Veiled head of Huldu right; “year three” and ḥēth in Aramaic to right. Meshorer, Nabataea 52 var. (“year three” on obv.); Hoover & Barkay –; Huth –; Schmitt-Korte II –; DCA 972. VF. Extremely rare, and an unpublished type featuring the regnal year represented as both a digit and a word, rather than both being in the same format. Overstruck on an uncertain type, possibly another Nabataean drachm.
